Hmm. What does it mean to fail that? Wouldn't your truck possibly be considered as exempt from testing? Did your fuel tank fail because it has holes in it?
Is this your tank:

Sadly I live in a state were they make money every possible way. Old cars are only exempt if is 75 and under.
EVAP test is a pressure test done to the fuel system for all cars 95 and under.
Shows it didn't hold pressure. Their must be a leak somewhere.
Could be a fuel line issue or tank not sure.
Have 30 days for a retest/ fix.
Yes that looks like the tank.

If you plan on doing the repair yourself, start with the simple items first, I would think a hose would leak before your steel tank would.  Check the hose clamps as well.  You could smoke test with a cigar, that would help pinpoint the leak.
If your tank is bad and you cannot find someone to repair  it you could swap to a 720 tank. Look this item number up on ebay: 271616234294  the mounting is different, nearly identical to my 78 620.

Will keep everyone posted. I might go that route and install the 720 tank.

Looking at the filler neck, it's approximately 31 inches CTC from the left side (slotted holes) to the right side (threaded nut).  Hope that helps.
