Are there any common steering upgrades for a 620?

Hm, other than replacing everything that can be replaced with new components, seems like you would have to do something custom. Such as a 810 power steering gear box swap, power steering rack or a custom hydraulic ram setup.

I did not think there was anything that would work from a Nissan.  Manual steering is okay, just have to keep everything in good shape.

yeah, replace anything thats bad, keep your wheel bearings in good shape, and your steering will be great.

steering damper  is a bolt on option from monroe and helps quite a bit, I added this after replacing all of my components.

Upgrade to 720 tie rods, they're adjustable. They help in setting camber and toe accurately on both sides independently instead of just relying on the center link, especially for lowered or raised trucks. IMO, after i did this upgrade to my '74 620 (including a balljoint front disc brake conversion at the same time) it handles more like a small sports car than a truck. Steering isn't perfect but it's a tighter road 'feel', sort of like my Integra.

This thread is for Lucky!  I remember talking about steering racks somewhere....  will find it later..

Anyhow, you won't find a stock rack and pinion to fit a 620 because of how narrow it is..  I believe a few exist and I feel confident I had located them, but I will have to go through my information.

In the meantime if you're willing to do a little bracket building...
toyota pickup's offer a power steering gear box that's very robust!  Lots of steering gear box options honestly.  Why not use a 280zx, early years, power steering box or 200sx?

I know this is a very old thread but..... to replace the 620 tie rods with 720s.....what else is needed to complete the job? If the additional parts are for a 720, do they all fit on a 620 (1978 king cab).? I want to add turning angle (but not for drifting!)...just for ease of maneuvering.
