hey guys, yesterday my job had me go do an on-call stop at a residence. as i walked up the driveway i immediately noticed the shape of the car covered. spoke with the retired owner and sure enough it's what i expected. he is the original owner but he admitted having it repainted the original color once. sitting since '95, he said "life got busier, i'm married, got kids" so he decided to park it. he used to start it and run it once in awhile, not anymore. i offered to help get it street legal and road worthy but he turned around and asked me if i wanted it and to take it awayShocked......needless to say, i was left speechless!

here's a crappy cell phone pic

thanks bro!! not only was i excited but a whole lotta mixed emotions like 'thank u lord for making our paths cross today!!', 'can't wait to get it home', 'oh dang, where am i gonna park it' to 'oh sh*t, what, when, or how am i gonna explain this to my wife!'
i'll get it home most likely after x-mas after i figure out the logistics. i'll probably move the blue outta the way or maybe sell it? i dunno.
as for the color, i admit i've seen Zs in oranges, reds, black and blues but never the original light yellow.
haha, i wish i was wearing my DMT t-shirt yesterday!!

My first choice when I ordered my '76 280Z  was the pale yellow but I couldn't get it and took an orange one which I loved immediately.  It's still running at 282K but I aint sellin'.

BTW, i did mention the Z to her when i got home yesterday, i was too excited, but i didn't get to the part about bringing it home.... yetWink

hey guys thanks!

slam, i looked at it just as in the pic plus a short glance of the inside, all that in less than 5 minutes. all i know is a lotta work is cosmetic i.e. interior has some moisture/humidity stains, body chrome trim has surface rust, there's some minor rot on the driver's rocker panel, didn't check the floorpans or open the hood but i noticed the rims are vented and weren't made for hubcaps.

Pa's, is that the correct color name, pale yellow? sounds correct but i remember seeing it only on 510s back then. u have a nice, well kept '76

EZ, my son doesn't know about it but i'll make sure he will be wearing his Datsun DMT t-shirt when i pick up the ZSmile

The actual paint code for the 1970/71 240Z  SUNSHINE YELLLOW was 81908.  The SUNSHINE YELLOW with black interior COMBINATION code was 919.

Hope this helps.

man, i'm so sick of chocolates cause last thursday i delivered 6 pallets to Godiva Chocolates and we had to unpack all 53 boxes before they would receive them, it took like 3 hours for that 1 stop! and to add insult to injury they offered a chocolate bar and a chocolixir drink afterwards...ROLF!!!LOL
