take the exhaust cam from another 93 to 96 and install it on your intake cam side all I did was put it on top dead number one lobe as close as possible to the lashpad make sure the valves are not opening...as close as possible before it pushes the valve down the nipple on the cam gear will be underneath now doesnt really matter retard the cam is better or just drill out the hole a little wider like an adjustable cam gear worked for me about 13% more powerful not kidding cam cost 20$ lol

This does not make 13% more power.  IT DOES make the exhaust note lopey @ idle.  As with ANY camshaft, changing the profile and location of the lobe moves the effective power band into a different rpm range.  I read into this swap ALOT when I was building my KA and most people remove it shortly after installing it.  You would be better off with a set of after market cams and some other supporting modifications.   Over 20 extra 20 HP out of just a cam on a 2.4 4 cylinder with nothing else? I think what your noticing is the difference in noise and because of that your foot is a little heavier.  Any body want to confirm this or comment?

are you running the the 240 or 248?  I've seen dyno's showing about 4whp for the 240/232 combo.
