Okay so a couple months back I got a wild hair and sold my "Pepe" 1986 720 KC. The interior was done, it ran and drove absolutely perfect and so on. But, it needed a ton of bodywork to make it right. So I actually got $1900 for it because I had actually done a ton of work in just little stuff and it was really clean. So, I was going through major withdrawals and found this one today on craigslist. It's a 1985 KC 2wd A/C. It runs like crap but the interior is pretty clean with no cracks in the dash at all. But the main reason I got it is because the body is almost perfect. It only has one small dent in the rear quarter panel. It's awesome!! And I got it for only $900!! WhooHoo!!

More pics to follow. I'm tired from driving all over today.

I'm hoping it just needs a tune-up. It still has the original plug wires so there maybe some other original parts that need to be changed. I scored a set of Chevy 1/2 ton chrome wheels today and then later in the day I was at another customer of mine and I ended up scoring a set of Titan wheels for only $100. What a funny day.

That's not far from me at all. I'm surprised I haven't seen it. There's a few 720's in Vegas but not many are done. Where do you live Smooth?

Here's some updated pics. So far I've changed the plugs, wires, cap & rotor (all were orginal from 1985 w/166k miles) It seems to be running much better. I'll have to run some clean fuel through it to know for sure. I have to go and get a temp license for it from the DMV before I can drive it to get it smogged. I changed the exhaust manifold gaskets and the tailpipe too. Next will be the radiator hoses. I took the seats out and cleaned the interior. I'll probably dye the carpet next and see how it comes out. It's a bit faded in spots. If that doesn't turn out alright then I'll just replace it like I did in my other one.

I'm back at it again. I think I mentioned that I found a set of Titan wheels for cheap. So I finally bored out the centers on the fronts. Screwed them up becuase my bit came loose and then I went too deep on the other one. So once I finally learned how to do it I found another pair for cheap from a friend. Bored. Done. Easy. I'll chalk it up to a learning curve. Scuffed and sanded the gouges. These were pretty rough to begin with. Painted them Toyota Bronze last night at a friend's body shop. After four coats of base and four coats of clear they turned out absolutely beautiful. I'm in love with the color and can't wait to get
my Pirellis mounted on them tomorrow.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I finally got it registered and new plates for it too. I went to the DMV and asked for the special vintage Blue circa 1982 Nevada plates. Then they actually asked me what number I would like to have on it. I thought they would charge extra for a custom message but they said as long as it's 3 letters and 3 numbers and nobody has it already then they would make it for me. I'll give y'all 1 guess what I picked... 3 weeks later and presto!!!

Rims turned out great, can't wait to see them on. I'd say win on the plates! And no extra charge. For my personalized plate on Ole Blue, it's $60 a year. Atleast thats what I think I paid last time.

Does anyone have any ideas which shocks work best once you've lowered a 720? I turned down the torsion bars up front for about 3.5" of drop and put 3" blocks on the rear. I've been talking back and forth with KYB but I'll have to take some static measurments for them first. i.e. shocks in and shocks out measuring between the two mounting points. I'm pretty much bottomed out on the front right now I think.

Got my new Weber 38DGES Carb. I wish installation was as easy as this! I opted for the larger 38 synchronized carb instead of the usual 32/36 progressive because I plan on doing some mods to my motor. I'd like to put in a nice cam and deck the head. My next purchase will be a header and a hi-flow cat for it.

It definitely helped with power through the whole range. I just took a nice long power drive and was able to get it up to 85 in 4th gear. I couldn't even do that in 5th gear before at all, so I'm impressed. I love the sound too. It sounds like a cold air intake from under the hood every time I hit the throttle. I was very surprised about that since I wasn't expecting it to sound so cool. I'm definitely glad that I went with the Outlaw 38 instead of the 32/36 progressive. I'm sure the other one would have been just fine but I don't want just "fine". My daily driver is a turbo GTI so I guess I'm spoiled now. I want my truck to perform too

The installation was a little tough I guess. I'm a pretty experienced mechaninc too. I think the hardest part was that their directions could have been a little more specific for my model. They were pretty vague but I figured it all out. Thank goodness I happen to have the vacuum hose diagram from the factory manual or I would have been a bit lost. It really helped. There's a lot of stuff that you just do away with when you put these on.
