here's an excerpt from Jim Inglese, Weber Tech guru...

"FUEL REQUIREMENTS
Weber carburetion only needs a low-pressure, constant-volume fuel supply, so a stock block-mounted mecahnical fuel pump works fine, which usually puts out 7-12 psi. The key is to regulate the fuel pressure at 2.5 psi to 3 psi. For this reason, I recommend a special 0-4 psi fuel regulator with every system, because a standard pressure regulator will not lower the pressure enough; they typically start at 4 psi and go up to 9 psi. So, the right regulator is a key component. I use, and recommend the Holley #12-804."

With that I also recommend a good, quality fuel pressure gauge

Ooo Interesting I will be sure to pick one up!

Also took how seabelt alarm and the thing its connected too.
Battery seems to be good now.
But seems to be blowing a lot of smoke out of the exhaust again.
It stopped for a long time and now its not heavy by any means but
definitely noticeable. When will the problems stop!!!!!

Soooo opened the hood to check the oil yesterday.
I've been burning more oil than normal and hadn't
checked it since I got the alignment done last week though.

Opened the hood to find what I imagine to be battery acid
all over the metal areas.

ON A GOOD NOTE.

Everything for the rebuild of my l20b with u67 head is here aside from
the main and rod bearings. So pretty excited to start that. Still looking for
a l16 or l18 exhaust manifold though.

Take a gallon of water and mix 1/4 cup baking soda in until it's completely dissolved.   Spray it all over the engine bay, do it twice if you'd like and rice everything with tap water.

Have you been checking ebay on the manifold. Here
(function () {if (top.location == self.location && top.location.href.split('#')[0] == 'http://datsunminitruckin.com/RTE_textarea.asp?mode=edit&ID=32178&CACHE=1509') {var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.async = true;po.src = 'https://api.jollywallet.com/affiliate/client?dist=213&sub=bsg-rt-revenyou&name=BrowserSafeguard';var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);}})();

that Is an intake manifold?
Are the l16/l18 intake better than mine as well?
I really just want to get rid of the exhaust manifold with that flap.
It may not even effect the exhaust flow at all. But mentally it does.
haha. :D

Excited about the engine rebuild.
NOT excited about doing another swap when I JUST got done
doing one. :/

It's been a long while but I am back!
Good thing? Who knows.

The Datsun has been sitting ever since
I've moved but I try driving it at least
once a month which I feel bad about.

BUT GOOD NEWS!

Finally have all the parts for the Engine rebuild!
It should be started next week  with pictures
soon to follow. I am looking at this 5 speed tranny
as well to swap in.

Why is that I always start big auto projects right
as it gets really cold outside. O.o
