well had another setback in the truck. thursday morning my radio died but i could hear static. no lights what so ever ont eh radio. figured my old trusty Sony died. nope popped a fuse. ok no problem. i'll pick some up from work later. blew 2 more before i figured out my BRAKE switch died. yay.... its a non stock item at work, the DC has one i think, and the clutch switch is different on the 78.

thats all fine and dandy. the demon (Blix's 73)is down for motor work, so i snagged the switch from it. got the switch out, almost have it in my truck adn teh freaking leads break off. soldered em back on tonight and the switch doesn't work. so i adapted em to the clutch switch from the 78. brakes work and no blown fuses.

Yep, sounds like a regular datto issue.  But please notice that even though you broke the leads off the switch you were able to re solder them and fix it.  If that had been a brake light switch off of ANYTHING else you would have been screwed!   Almost everything in a 620 can be take apart and fixed somehow or another.

Im not sure what auto parts store your work at but I have worked at a few before and NONE of them can get the part rock auto can.  Rock auto's prices beat your employee discount as well.

well i wasn't able to make the switch work. got it all soldered up and something inside gave way and it was dead.

also if i can get the switch through work, it'll be $2 cheaper than rock after shipping. and thats without my discount.

as of last night i figured out why this truck is running like sh*t. the idle mixture screw went AWOL on me. no where to be found. yay...... plus i think the 4spd is dying. i went to hit 3rd on my way to Seattle last night and it went into gear but nothing happened. out and back into 3rd and it started working but i don't know how much longer this is gonna work. i gotta get teh red truck going so i can tear this one down.
