Oops, sorry for the blank post.  Let's try this again. Embarrassed

Does anyone have any information on young, affluent Japanese collectors paying high dollars for early model  Datsuns that represent the early cars & trucks when Japan entered the world auto market? One example, $20,000 for a 240Z.

Sounds interesting.

Pa don't tell me your trying to "cash in". There has been a recent ignorant rise in Z prices and it makes me sick. This is quickly become a rich guy only hobby.

Braden...My interest is in finding someone who would take a car I bought 40 year sago  and have driven  282k who would be young enough with enough interest and money to preserve, maintain , enjoy and most of all  respect the DATSUN brand.

I had not heard anything about this new breed of collectors until someone directed me to two videos of shops in Japan that specialize restoring early model DATSUNs for these collectors.  One shop insisted on producing the vehicles back to 100% original.  A Z car he was working on looked much like mine.  The other shop took  DATSUNs and created modified monsters (in my book and totally sad).

Would I sell if the opportunity was afforded?  Probably with some regret but happy my Z car would not suffer the future fate of many junkers I have seen.

However,  Pa's truck , my dad's bought new also, will not be available for some time to come. But who knows the future.
