Listen guys this is a very very important thread. We all know that our datsuns are getting very scarce, especially in the east part of the country. With the new transformers coming out soon we may see alot of datsuns being put back on the road and alot of them used up and gone, wrecked or what have you. What we need to do is locate all the datsuns that we can, document their location, pictures, and any information we can get about buying them or getting them. once we have a bunch located we can refer to this thread in order to go out and get what parts/ projects we need.  Even if no one goes and gets them we will atleast have some sort of documents leading us to where one might be in the future.

For starters im gonna post up this white 74? 620 that i know of a few miles down the road from me. Thsi truck is a one owner and hasnt run since 1990, it was parked in the driveway and has sat ever since. I talked with the owners son and they didnt have an interest in selling. The truck is an automatic with an L18 i beleive. It has some rust in the bed and general rust all over, from what i could tell it is complete and all of the lights and lenses are intact, as well as the glass, hubcaps etc. has a good rear end, good frame, good cab, good dash bezel etc. basically just an old 620 with a cracked dash and general dirt and rust. im keeping my eye on this truck for parts and i plan on sending letters to the owner in an effort to get her to sell. The truck is located on hwy 76 in russel springs ky. its is on the north side of hwy 80, about 2 miles from the hwy 80/ hwy 76 intersection. Go to google maps and enter these long lat coordinates (37.102631,-85.028354), this is exactly where the truck is sitting, i beleive with some minor negotiation one could buy this truck cheap. The lady that lives there is a widow and this was her husbands truck, her last name is roberston i beleive, her sons name is mike robertson you may be able to look them up in the phone book. here are some pictures.

atleast try and post one picture and some coordinates, thanks guys

Up next I have located a 260Z located on thurman rd in Somerset Ky, its at Glenn Rutherford Towing, he plans to scrap it, he told me for 50-100 bucks he would let me strip whatever I wanted. Its a greta parts car but i doubt the body is worth restoring.  Its dark green and has alot of bondo, floorboard is gone, good dash and engine, good 4 speed, extra set of su's int the pass seat, also has louvers on it. beware of the dogs!!!    37.084366,-84.639034

Sounds like a good idea....how do we gather this info and  store it?  Is there a forum register we can list our Datsuns by make,  model, vin, miles, location and pics?

My wife and own several motorcycles...we have two Italian Laverdas (no longer made) and two BMW.
We belong to forums for both and they have "REGISTRIES" that  record all the data re the motorcycles.
Is this what you have in mind?

BTW...we have a 1976 620 and a 1976 280Z located in Willow Spring, North Carolina.

Braden, i applaud your ambition but that's just how people are with something of sentimental value, believe me it's true. Over many years I tried to buy a '64 Mustang Fastback, a '65 VW Notchback, a '73 Celica, a 521, a BRE 510 replica just to name a few, and got replys just like u and PCD. Eventually, the owners just left them to continue to rot away and the vehicles weren't very nice to begin with, just rusty and dusty. Heck, just recently a friend told me about a 510 2dr sedan that sat in a open garage collecting dust for years, that the owners started renovating their house and dumped the datsun at a metal recyclerCry

This really irks the sh*t out of me. When you see a sad, dying Datsun and offer to buy it only to be met by annoyed owners who insist that they are going to fix it up and keep it when it's obvious that it's never going to happen. All the while, the car continues to succumb to a slow and eventual death.
