you should be ok without getting your blocked bored without a torque plate the L,Z and K blocks are already stressed and should you should be fine and in spec with the out of round, my machinest can do this small job for you with ease and get it done correctly and you will never have issues

good luck in finding a torque plate for a L,Z or K series there is probable less than 5 in the united states
Still on the never ending quest to squeeze more from an L series

Here's an update long overdue.   Brought the car back from my brothers garage to the garage at the new house.  I got everything back from the machine shop and it all turned out OK.  They assembled the head for me and Its not clean enough for me so I am going to take it all back apart and scrub every last speck of dirt from it.    I have decided to order a set of new rods rather than try to order and replace the small end bushings on my stock rods.  Im going to get started  with the engine next week.  This week I managed to clean the garage up and clean the car before I pulled it in.  The engine bay was pretty nasty but its all good now.   I bought some POR15 and Im gonna paint it on my battery tray.  Thing should be moving alot faster now that I actually have the car in where I can work on it.  I opted to get a mishimoto radiator over the used one I got from my neighbor.  Need to order the aluminum shroud and fans.    Im going to be building my own custom exhaust on this car and Im thinking of going with a magnaflow muffler.  My neighbor paid 500$ for his exhaust and after I buy a 100$ muffler I should have less than 150$ in my own custom design.  Thats about it for now. Stay tuned.

Got the new struts and lowering springs installed, I have been working on the rust in the rear hatch. I got the rust cut out, and patch panels welded in. This was my first attempt at any type of body work and I learned a lot. Even trying to control the heat from the welding the metal warped and I had to use a hammer to dimple the metal back into shape. There will be a little more filler than I wanted on the hatch but at least there wont be rust holes and 10 coats of paint. Hopefully I can get started on the filler and sanding today and get it back on the car this weekend. I'm felling like working on the block today, I'm hoping to try to get the casting flash de burred so I can get the block ready for assembly. Pics to come.

Long needed update.   There was rust in my hatch where the rear spoiler was mounted.  Someone had patched it with mesh and bondo.  I got a little carried away chipping out the bondo and ended up stripping it down to bare metal, cutting out the rust, welding it back up,  ever-glassing over the patches, glazing, priming and painting. I had never done body work before and I think it turned out pretty good.  It would have been alot better if I could have controlled the warp-age better.  I tried to let the metal cool but It still warped as I welded.  If I could have controlled the warping better there wouldn't have been hardly any filler in it all. Been working the last two days on assembling the engine.  For me its a tedious process because I am so picky, if its not perfect it makes me crazy. I would ramble on with what all I did on the bottom end but I will let the pictures do the talking.   Note the de-burred engine block.
