Been gathering parts to do this for a few years, and the project is nearly done.

Carbs are off the 1980 Vance & Hines pro stock drag bike.
Old school Mikuni VM series, 40mm bore size, that V&H converted to smooth bore.

I found that the rubber VM spigot mounts had nearly the exact same bolt pattern as a DCOE,
and it took just a few passes in each hole with a round file to get them to slide on.

The manifold is a short L4 Mikuni, that has been ceramic coated to keep heat from the exhaust from soaking in.

Since this set up uses a 4 into 1 throttle cable, the throttle shaft uprights on the manifold were not needed, and I just about machined them off. But then it dawned on me, that they could be used to hold a fuel rail Smile.

The air filter is from an early Z-car, that the backing plate was modified to take 4 carb mouths.
And because of the weight of the filter, I made stand-offs that bolt to the manifold, and then to the filter backing plate.

The nose on the filter housing was cut off, and the opening inlarged so that 4" air duct hose will snap in. A short length of the hose will be used to take air from behind the left head lamps of my 620.

WOW. Nice work. I am glad you didn't molest the manifold. If you ever decide to remove this from your project the manifold can still be used with normal carbs. This is good seeing as these manifolds are quite rare.

The guy I got it from had 2 of them. I traded an SK for this one, so there would be clearance at the brake booster for the Z-car air filter.
