A friend of my father's brother passed away and I heard there was an old pickup for sale. I was in the market, but I wasn't ready to be this stoked on a small truck. I was thinking I'd end up with an old 2wd Toyota or something, which is less exciting. My brother picked it up with intent to resell it but I insisted he sell it to me. He relented. But, he also did tons of great work on it before I picked it up (more later).

My brother in law is building a turbo 280z rotisserie style and he's gotten me as stoked about Datsuns as I am about BMW E30s. I jumped on this and drove it home from Idaho to Utah over 3 hours at 65mph, wishing I had any clue what rpm this crappy 3-speed auto was running the engine at. Made it home no problem, and got antique tags today.

My brother put in a ton of elbow grease and cleaned up the interior, ripped out the kitchen carpet, painted the wheels, painted the front grill and emblem. He put a DA polisher on the paint, and wound the torsion bars all the way down with 3" lowering blocks on the rear. Rides a little rough over bumps, but drives fantastic.

Had some free wheels from my pops so I threw em on for fun.

Beauty! If you are sold on keeping it that low there are mods and items to make the ride better. I would kinda like to see a set of volks on there..

Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks. I'd like to find out, bar a coilover control arm conversion I've seen on eBay by a member here. I've found some 18" Titan wheels for $100 locally but I also have some free 16" Toyota truck wheels but they're tanks.
