After probably a year of having my bike listed on CL... and after two months of working out a trade... I finally swapped my bike for a really nice 1966 Beetle. It's got a brand spanking new tricked out 1776cc motor and freeway flyer trans. Other than that it's mostly all original. OG glass, OG Blaupunkt radio and so on. I told my wife it's all hers but my fun will come from working on it and making it perfect.

Here it is on the trailer when we picked up in Barstow, CA on Saturday night...

At home...

Here are some pics that the previous owner sent me.

My bike was a Yamaha Stratoliner that I just didn't have time to ride for the last 5 years. The poor thing just sat in the garage except for the occasional ride here and there. It was a 2007 and I only put 10k miles on it. At least with nice classic car, the whole family can ride.

Aaaah. A HST fan I see. He was from Kentucky too. Do they teach about him in High school State history there?

nice vw. enjoy it but make sure you do the 3k oil changes and make sure you don't use cheap oil. I run 20/50 in my vw cuz it is thicker for hot elements here in phoenix. so the heat is about the same in vegas during the summer months
